Behind Macuwell™ are the two specialist opticians Steffen Geipel and Gerold Bäcker. When they got to know each other at a trade fair, they soon realized that they were connected by more than just their job. Both of them had a focus on the effects of blue light and the risks to eye health that people face in the digital age. They developed a 360° concept that informes people about blue light, includes the measurement of macular pigment density, and equips customers with suitable blue-light-filtering glasses and appropriate nutritional supplements.
